MinErAL Workshop - Building on the MinErAL Network: Research Achievements and Shaping Future Research
This two-day workshop, held on March 20–21, 2025, brought together students, researchers, and partners affiliated with the MinErAL network, along with other academics, representatives from NGOs, and community stakeholders involved in mining-related work.
The event served as a valuable platform for sharing research findings, ongoing initiatives, and diverse perspectives on extractive industries and their impacts on local and Indigenous communities. In total, 20 researchers, 6 students, and 5 partners participated in discussions focused on the social and environmental effects of extractive activities, the progress of the network’s work, emerging research needs, and the strengthening of collaborations with NGOs and community partners.
This workshop contributed to consolidating existing partnerships, fostering new research avenues, and enhancing synergies between academic and community sectors.
